Gaziantep Kültür Tarihi Müzesi
Gaziantep Üniversitesi Kütüphane ve Belgeleme Daire Başkanlığı Zemin katında yer alan Gaziantep Kültür Tarihi Müzesi; talebelerine,öğrenim gördükleri şehrin kültürünü tanıtmak, öğretmek ve benimsetmek Amacıyla oluşturulmuştur. Müzede Gaziantep arkeolojisi, özgün kültür varlıkları ve vesikalarla örnekler sunularak kronolojik anlatımla tanıtılmaktadır. Şehrin kültür hayatının bölümler halinde ele alındığı müzede; “Yetiştirdiği Ehemmiyetli Şahsiyetler”, Antep Ağzı ve Dil Özellikleri”, Şehrin Hayatında Ehemmiyetli Olaylar”, “Aile Hayatı, Günlük Hayat, Özel Günler”, “Çocuk Oyunları ve Oyuncakları”, “Eğlence Hayatı”, “Resimcilik” ve “Karagöz Oyunculuğu” gibi kesitler bulunmaktadır. Kendi talebelerine yönelik faaliyette bulunan “Gaziantep Kültür Tarihi Müzesi “ 25 Aralık 2009 seneninde ziyarete açılmıştır. Müzenin teşhir mentalitesi, Gaziantep Şehrinin kültürünü ortaya koymak, burada Yaşananları anımsatmak, unutturmamak ve yabancı ziyaretçilere de Gaziantep’i tanıtmaktır. Müzede, Gaziantep şehri asal alınarak, bu şehrin ortaya çıktığı 12. asırdan itibaren günümüze kadar geçirdiği kültür merhalelerinden gelen ve hayat tarzını, el sanatlarını, hane sanatlarını ve gündelik hayatını yansıtan somut kültür varlıklarının sergilendiği koleksiyonlar bulunmaktadır Müzenin koleksiyonları arasında Gaziantep ve etrafından toplanarak bağışlanmış olan fosiller de ehemmiyetli bir yer tutmaktadır. Müzede ayrı olarak bir Laboratuar/Atolye bölümü bulunmakta ve Arkeoloji Bölümü talebelerinin Müzeoloji dersleri için iyi bir pratik uygulama alanı oluşturmaktadır.
